August 2002:   The Victory Years

August celebrates the jubilant years (’45 to ’59) when the war was over, the boys were back, & “home and family” took on fresh meaning. The fifty-ish gizmos n’ gadgets and unforgettable music, recall the optimism, even the sheer giddiness of the day. The pastel convertibles, the hoola hoop, jukebox, poodle skirt, crinolines and polka dots are included with memories of Levittown, 3-D cinema,  Uncle Milty,  Gleason, & Lucy n’Desi.
