April 2002: The 1930’s
April revisits the simple pleasures of the depression years: the ten cent picture show, the arrival of the ice man, nickel bargains at the five & dime store, and the big hearted mayor who read us the funny pages. Souvenirs include: Shirley Temple dolls, a model of a 30’s five & ten, the ice man’s tongs, depression glass, and FDR “fireside chatting”.
Side-By-Side, Happy Days are Here Again, I Met a Million Dollar Baby (at the Five and Ten Cent Store.)
